This is a tesla coil high voltage discharge. For the technical it was made with a coil that uses a rotary spark gap giving a different sound to the high-voltage-discharge-1 clip that has more of a 'sizzle' to it. Recorded at a display i did at nottingham in 2013.

I use a fender american special stratocaster, hooked up to an akai s2000 sampler with on-board fx - distortion and guitar metal applied in real time, the signal then sent through to amplitube fx rack on my computer with vintage crunch setting. This is a strum of the lower e open. I recorded a number of stabs and thought this clip might come in useful.

From frederick noad's book: 'idiots guide to playing the guitar. ' noad plays it so beautifully, i could never match him, but i just wanted to try it with the electric instead. Recorded with my squire tele and squire bass into the focusrite interface. The guitar went through the walrus slo pedal on 'dream' setting with editing done in reaper. I revolve the power generator handle. Our country has recently got a huge punch out of the ocean. We lost many people, many buildings, factories, and power plants, which caused electricity shortage. We have at least one black-out everyday, and i turn the generating handle of a radio ( sony icf-b01, an emergency radio equipped with lights) for having supper in the dark. Autorickshaw: a field recording made in bangalore india, of a ride home in an autorickshaw. This was long before the days of electric autorickshaws (~year 2000), so the recording is the sound of the nasty, polluting-well-above-its-weight two-stroke petrol-engine variety. I was going home from a night out with with several friends spread out over three autorickshaws and sometimes you can hear the others in the recording. (the picture is not the actual autorickshaw in the recording, the photo is from pakistan. I didn't get a photo of the one in the recording, but you get the idea. ). Recorded on sony minidisc.

I recorded a transformer with a guitar pickup then broadcasted it from a speaker, then re-recorded this sound, waving my mic at the speaker (like a light sabre). Add a bit of chorus and voila, it's that light sabre sound. Could be a bit more beefy, you can add some sub or something, anyhows, hope some of yous get some use out of it anyways innit???!.
